Dale Jerome Williams was the fourth child born to the late Nathaniel Williams and Corrine Francis Harper Williams on July 6, 1958 in Alexandria, Louisiana. At an early age, Dale accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was baptized by the late Dr. E.D. Pierce at the First New Light Baptist Church.
He was educated in the Rapides Parish School System. As a young man, Dale worked in the lawn care industry, working for a business owned by his cousin, the late James Pierce Sr. He played baseball and even tried boxing for a short period of time.
In the early 1970s, Dale made the decision to move to Los Angeles, California, where he resided with his aunt, Yvonne Harper Davis. There, Dale, for many years, was employed by the school system as a custodian. Decisions made by Dale eventually led to his incarceration.
While sitting and thinking about his present situation, God got his attention and He answered his call to the Ministry!
During his early ministry days, he ministered to fellow inmates, conducted prayer meetings, and shared the Word of God.
In 2009 Minister Dale returned home and reunited with the First New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Minister Dale remained a steadfast, faithful member under the late Reverend Dr. Wardell Williams and present pastor, Reverend Thomas Dwayne Sands.
Minister Dale was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Williams; his mother, Corrine Williams; one brother, Walter Paul Williams; one sister, Mary Louise Williams; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Minister Dale leaves to cherish his precious memories: three faithful and loving sisters, Catherine Williams Hall (Rev. Allen), Linda Williams Houston of Pineville, Louisiana, and Carletta Williams Chestand (Reginald) Alexandria, Louisiana; two brothers, Stephen A. Williams and Edgar A. Williams of Pineville, Louisiana; special cousins, Wanda J. Williams and Ashley Steverson of Los Angeles, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his church family, First New Light Baptist Church.
