James Webster

James Webster was born November 26, 1938, from the union of the late Charles Webster, Sr. and the late Carrie Hill Webster in Lecompte, Louisiana.

He attended Lecompte Rosenwald Elementary School and Carter C. Raymond High School. While in school he attended Spring Hill Baptist Church in Lecompte, Louisiana. After graduation he attended college at Grambling State University.

Later he decided to serve his country and joined the Army, which he served from 1963 to 1968. He made his home in Inglewood, California, with his loving wife, Lucille Webster, and raised their four children. He worked for General Motors for more than 30 years. In 1998, James and Lucille decided to retire and moved to Natchitoches, Louisiana.

He became a faithful member of First Baptist Church North Street and served on the Usher Board.

James enjoyed fishing, grilling, boating, and watching football and basketball. Most of all, he enjoyed his family.The family rejoices as James’ soul journeys through the sky to his new home up above. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife, Lucille Webster; his children Sherhonda Tatum of Natchitoches, LA, Ferric Webster of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Janet T. Fason (James) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Twyla Webster Scott (Eddie) of Tempe, Arizona; and six (6) grandchildren; Jordan, Sydney, Eboni, Saadiq, Ameerah, and James Eric. He also leaves behind a god-daughter, Patrice Lewis of Los Angeles, California; six (6) great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
