Shirley J. McCall

Services for Shirley J. McCall will be at 11:00a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2025, at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, 831 Broadway Avenue, Alexandria, LA. Pastor Ronnie Humphrey will be officiating. Interment will be in Sunrise Cemetery, Woodworth, LA.


Shirley J. McCall was born on January 5, 1945, in Pineville, LA to the late Napoleon, Sr. and Pinkie Johnson. She accepted Christ at an early age. She matriculated through the Alexandria-Proper section of the Rapides Parish School Board and graduated from Peabody High School in 1963. She pursued her pose-secondary studies at Grambling State University.


She was a loyal employee of the City of Alexandria Utility Department for twenty-three (23) years. Following a well-deserved retirement, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family, crocheting, and watching her favorite shows: “Judge Judy”, “Nancy Grace”, and “The Bold and the Beautiful”


BaBa married the “Love of her life”, Willard “Bubba” McCall, and to this union, the Lord blessed them with three beautiful children.


BaBa was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon Sr. and Pinkie Johnson; one sister, ruby Green; and three brothers, Robert, Sr., Napoleon, Jr., and Herman, Sr.


She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband of fifty-seven (57) years, Willard “Bubba” McCall; her three children, Shinetta “Net” Shimanica “Bunny”, and Trevor; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Lavetta), Tierra, Chasity, Trevor, Jr., and Thaddeus; two great-grandchildren, Lauran and Alexander, her sibling, Isabell Gaines and Bobby Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
